On a recent article published on the Straits Times titled ‘Enrichment classes on coding for all upper primary pupils next year’, it highlighted the importance of educating the youths of today in the field of digital technology.

The articled highlighted the implementation of coding classes at an upper primary level from 2020 onward as an initiative to develop a healthy pipeline of tech talent for the digital economy.

The motive of this coding program was stated to be to excite young Singaporeans about the opportunities in the digital age and expose them to the skill sets needed for the potentially lucrative digital economy.

With the focus of our government on educating pupils in the field of digital technology, there is no better way to provide the emphasis on how useful these digital skill sets are going to be in the future with Singapore transforming into a digital economy.
