We are delighted that NUS has maintained our position as the region’s top university at a time when Asian countries are investing heavily in education and research. We are also very encouraged that the University is highly regarded and valued by employers and academics in Asia and the world,” said NUS President Professor Tan Chorh Chuan.

QS Asia University Rankings compare top universities in Asia based on 9 key performance indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citations per paper, papers per faculty, proportion of international faculty and students, and the proportion of inbound and outbound exchange students.
National University of Singapore (NUS) retains the top spot and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) moved up three places and ranked fourth in QS Asia’s top university rankings. NUS has lead the ranking for second straight year since the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University rankings was published in 2009.
NUS ranked first for employer reputation, Social Sciences and Management and Life Sciences and Medicine in the region. It is second for academic reputation in Asia, areas of Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology and Natural Sciences.
Nanyang Technological University (NTU) improved 10 places since 2009, ranking 14th place. This year, it has overtaken Seoul National University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Chinese University of Hong Kong in the rankings.
“NTU has successfully climbed the rankings despite the very competitive global and regional landscape. Asia is fast becoming a global powerhouse of higher education, with many young Asian universities below 50 years old surging ahead of their global peers, and NTU is proud to stand among these young up-and-coming Asian tigers,” said NTU President, Professor Bertil Andersson*
