Meet Hwee Ting
Q1. How was it to transit from working in the office to working from home for you?
I would say transition is not just adjusting from one environment to another, it is also about having a paradigm shift. The key aspect about working from home means that I would not be able to see my colleagues face-to-face. Hence, communication delay is expected as I do not get to walk up to them as though I am in the office to ask for their replies. I don’t know about you, but I’m used to expecting instant replies rather than waiting for the traditional snail mail, hence this is something I have been trying and is still getting used to.
Q2. How has the entire Work From Home been for you?
It’s only when you’re stuck at home that you realise you have taken some things for granted. From having more time to spend with the family (because we are all at home), to being able to work from home (when many others are not able to do so), to being safer from catching the virus because you’re at home all the time (when many others are risking exposure to the virus as they head out to work) – a blessing in disguise.
Q3. Have you cultivated any habits during Work From Home?
I wouldn’t say that it’s a habit I cultivated but here’s a fun fact about me: Laptop is now strictly for work, and so when I’m off-work, I don’t use my laptop at all. What about the online meetings with my friends? I always use my phone to join those meetings, never once did I use my laptop for video calls. Is this something you do too?
Q4. What aspect of working in ACP gave you the most fulfilment during this Work From Home?
I would say the morning video sharing sessions are the most fulfilling. It’s a short 10-15 minutes’ worth of videos, and even if I take only one point away from these sessions each day, I still learn something new every day!
Q5. What positive message would you like to provide to our other team members?
Every day is a new beginning, and every day is one day closer to seeing everyone back in the office again!”
