Meet Nura – our Developer Intern! Here’s a fun fact about her: If she could keep any animal as a pet, she would like to keep a panda because she loves how adorable and fluffy they look. She loves watching YouTube videos of them playing and rolling around!
A reliable co-worker who has been a great team member to work with, she is also very hardworking and willing to learn! In just 3 months of internship, she has completed 3 major projects i.e. Artificial Intelligence (AI) – facial recognition, and developed not one but TWO apps that can be found in the Play Store! With her internship coming to an end, let us hear from Nura about her experience with ACP:
“Overall, this experience has been a very meaningful one. I get to see what a career of a developer would look like and I have gained many new experiences that has grown my passion for software development even more! I learnt how to take responsibility for the decisions I make and to execute tasks which have been given to me. I have also learnt how effective communication and collaboration in a workplace plays an important part in the effectiveness and productiveness of a team. In fact, a team is the most effective and productive when all team members are effective and productive in their work! Hence, I should spend time learning the material on my own first so that I can ask more precise questions which would help me to have greater clarity and understanding about the project and thus complete my tasks more efficiently. My greatest achievements in this internship would be taking on a software development project and learning about the process, going through research and development, and gaining new technical skills along the way! This internship has introduced me to real-life work problems that have helped me to develop my problem solving skills. I also get to experience what it is like to work with and learn from people from a variety of background and experiences and diverse age groups. Now I feel like I have a better understanding of what to expect and how to be prepared for when I graduate from school and enter the workforce!”
To the future interns of ACP: “Don’t be afraid to learn new software or resources that you don’t have access to in school. Learning something new in a real-world setting is the best way to gain valuable skills.” – Nura
From all of us at ACP, we wish you (Nura) all the best for your future endeavours! We can’t wait to see the things you will achieve as a full-fledged developer!
